PreVu® Point-of-Care Test

The PreVu Non-Invasive Skin Cholesterol Point of Care (POC) Test is an in vitro test conducted on the palm of a patient's hand that offers a new tool in the fight against coronary artery disease (CAD) by providing new and additive risk assessment information through the measurement and quantification of skin cholesterol. Skin cholesterol is a compelling new biomarker for CAD.

Skin cholesterol is the cholesterol that has been deposited and diffused into tissue, as opposed to free circulating in the bloodstream, and has been shown in clinical trials to be strongly associated with significant CAD as measured by treadmill stress testing, coronary angiography, coronary calcium and carotid artery thickening.

Available for delivery through pharmacies, community healthcare settings, and within clinical environments as a general risk marker screen, the PreVu POC Test is completely painless, non-invasive, involves no blood draw or needles, requires no overnight fasting and involves no handling of potentially hazardous biomaterials. The test is conducted on the palm of the hand in less than 5 minutes with results being immediately available, facilitating point of care consultation or a next steps discussion.
